Dubai Health authority services

All expat residents are required to undergo a series of health and medical checks as part of their UAE residence visa application process. The medical test includes blood test and X-Ray check before they are granted Residence. Apart from this, there is pregnancy tests for maids, female drivers and baby sitters. This is applicable for renewing the visa also.

For Residence Visa Application process all Expat Residents are required to Complete a series of health and medical checks including AIDS/HIV,Hepatitis B,Hepatitis C,Leprosy,Pregnancy,Syphilis,Tuberculosis etc.

Medical Test needs to be completed on the authorized Medical fitness center. With respect to the result of medical test further procedures like treatment, quarantine, deportation etc needs to be followed.

Documents Required

  • Original Passport or Emirates ID should be shown at the Clinic
  • Fees must be paid online
  • Express Packages: Dh700 for 4 hour service Dh480 for 24 hour service and Dh380 for 48hour service

  • Courier fees Dh35 will be charged at the Clinic for 48 hours package
  • Courier fees Dh40 will be charged at the Clinic for 24 hours package. You can collect the Certificate personally if you want.

  • VIP Medical Tests service (Express) - Those who want to avoid long queues can avail the VIP Test service at Al Karama Medical Clinic (Opposite Emirates Post), Al Safa Community Health Centre, Jumeirah 2, Knowledge Village& Muhaisina (Sonapur) Fee: Dh690. Medical Certificate will be issued after four hours. For any clarification; call Karama Clinic on 04-342 6666, Al Safa Medical Center on 04-394 4010. Click here to book online.   • Below 18 Years Old: Medical Test not required for children below 18 years old. But if the remaining period for 18 years is less than one month, you will have to do Medical test for visa stamping. Parents above 75 years also not required Medical Fitness Certificate for their residence visa renewal. Photocopy of first report can be used for next three years.
  • New Visa holder: Medical Test and visa stamping to be done within 60 days from the date of entry.
  • Renewal: Medical Test and visa renewal to be done within 30 days from the date of expiry. Employment visa holder's Labour Card to be renewed within 60 days from the date of expiry.
  • Electronic Message: Medical Fitness report will be sent to Immigration Department by the Clinic electronically and the applicant will receive an SMS from the Clinic. If the message is Medically Fit, the applicant can proceed to Immigration for Visa Stamping with typed application. It is not necessary to attach Original Medical Certificate for new family visa stamping and renewal. For employment visa, original Medical Fitness Certificate must be attached.
  • Medical Certificate issued by private clinics will no longer accept by Ministry of Labour and Residency Department.
  • Hepatitis B: The category of workers, which include nannies, housemaids, nursery and KG supervisors, beauticians and barbers, health club workers, and food handlers, will have to undergo tests for Hepatitis B and also for syphilis. Treatment will be given for syphilis and the person will not be deported.
  • Vaccination: Those tested positive for Hepatitis B will have to take three doses of vaccinations and show proof that they have taken them. Workers have to show the vaccination certificate at the time of renewal of their visa. The first dose of vaccination will cost Dh50 and the two others are free of charge.

    Ten-Day rule for Radiological Test
    Before taking Radiographs, it is necessary to make sure that you are not pregnant. It is generally considered safe for a woman of child bearing age to have radiographic images if she is within the first 10 days following the onset of her menstrual cycle. If you are outside this period and sure that you are NOT pregnant, it is safe to continue radiological test.
